The flags are made from pine wood. The pine is torch-burnt by me giving it a rustic look. Once burnt they are wiped with an oil based stain, keeping the grain of the wood visible through the stain. After the stars are carved they are burned as well, to keep a uniform and consistent design throughout the flag. All flags are clear coated to seal and protect the wood.
